A modern facelift is no longer about pulling skin tight — it repositions the deeper structures of the face that have descended with time, restoring the contours you had a decade ago. Our board-certified plastic surgeons in Istanbul specialise in deep-plane and SMAS techniques, performed in a JCI-standard hospital with results that move, smile and age naturally.

FaceliftEvery face ages differently, so every facelift is planned individually. Your surgeon maps where volume has descended, how your skin has changed, and what your photographs from ten years ago show — then designs a lift that restores rather than transforms.
Your surgeon analyses your facial anatomy, skin quality and the pattern of your ageing, then explains which technique — deep-plane, SMAS or a more limited lift — fits your case. Complementary steps such as neck lift, fat transfer or eyelid surgery are discussed openly.
Complete blood work, an ECG where indicated and an anesthesia consultation are done at the hospital. Smoking must be paused well in advance, as it directly affects skin healing in facelift surgery.
Through incisions concealed along the natural creases around the ear and into the hairline, the deeper SMAS layer is lifted, repositioned and secured. The neck is tightened through a small incision under the chin when needed. The operation takes three to five hours under general anesthesia.
You stay one to two nights in the hospital with your head elevated and a soft support dressing in place. Discomfort is typically described as tightness rather than pain, and any drains are removed before discharge.
Dressings are reduced over the first days, sutures around the ear are removed at about day 7–10, and your surgeon performs a final review before your flight. Remote photo consultations then track your healing at set milestones through the year.

A facelift is most rewarding when the signs of ageing have gone beyond what skincare and injectables can address. You may be an excellent candidate if you:
Yes — that is the defining goal of deep-plane and SMAS techniques. Because the lift is carried by the deeper tissues rather than stretched skin, your features are restored to their earlier position instead of being changed. Patients are most often told they look "rested" or "well," not "different."
There is no single right age — it depends on your anatomy and how ageing shows on your face. Most of our facelift patients are between 45 and 70. Operating when skin elasticity is still reasonable often produces the most natural and durable result, but candidacy is decided by examination, not by birthdate.
A well-executed deep-plane or SMAS facelift typically lasts 10–15 years. You will continue to age naturally, but from a significantly younger starting point — your face will always look better than it would have without the surgery. Sun protection, stable weight and not smoking extend the result.
Incisions follow the natural crease in front of the ear, curve behind it and continue discreetly into the hairline. Placed and closed carefully, they mature into fine lines that are very difficult to spot — even with short hair or hair worn up. We support healing with a full scar-care protocol.
With the right provider, yes. Your surgery takes place in a JCI-standard hospital with board-certified plastic surgeons and dedicated anesthesia teams, and you remain in Istanbul for a full week of monitored recovery before flying. Aftercare then continues remotely with structured photo reviews — you are never simply discharged and forgotten.
Very commonly. Eyelid surgery, brow lift, fat transfer for volume loss and neck refinement are frequently combined so the whole face rejuvenates in harmony — a face that looks 15 years younger next to tired eyes would look unbalanced. Your surgeon will recommend only what genuinely serves the overall result.
Injectables, threads and energy devices can refresh early signs of ageing, but they cannot reposition tissue that has genuinely descended. Once jowls and neck laxity are established, only surgical lifting restores the underlying architecture. Many patients use non-surgical care to maintain their facelift result afterwards — an excellent combination.
